Coincidence? I think not. Yesterday an article was published in the New York Times. Go East, Young Man, was the headline of the article, it goes on to talk about a young man in his 20′s ( like me) who decides America and the status quo was enough. So he left, frustrated with his Job, he moved to China.

Putting myself in his position, I can see it clearly. If you are in your 20′s and recently graduated, you KNOW how difficult it is to find a job in the United States right now. I was EXTREMELY blessed with being able to jump into the family company right after school, but I know this, if I was not married right out of school and didn’t have to provide for my family and wanted to apply to other jobs outside of the family company, it would have been miserable. Even today, being graduated for almost two years, having plenty of experience for a leadership type role for a company, about to finish up another degree at Rice University , I speak three languages, run my own business, I still find it beyond difficult to find a job here in the U.S..

So what do I do, well you guessed it. If you have been following my blog you saw this post, It’s Time , you saw that I am planning on moving to China. June 6th to be specific, my 23rd birthday I will be on a jet plane heading back to China, to travel, to live, to explore, and if I get bored from having fun, to find a job. I love this quote by one of my favorite foodies:

If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel – as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them – wherever you go. “
- Anthony Bourdain

THAT’S ME!!! It screams my name.

Yesterday,  I also received this link from a favorite friend of mine. One more sign? I think so.

One unique thing about me is when I traveled to China three summers ago, I did pushups on The Great Wall….this guys has me beat.

Thank you for letting me vent my goals and ambitions to move to China. If anyone wants to tag a long for a couple weeks let me know!  I would love to have a travel partner or two.

Blessings,

-B
